Homeless figures continue to be area of concern across Louth

THERE were 47 people presenting as homeless to Louth County Council, in the latest figures presented to councillor­s.

The report on homelessne­ss revealed that 22 people had presented in Dundalk as homeless, with a further 25 in the Drogheda district.

Councillor­s were also informed about the action taken in each of these cases.

In Dundalk ten people were placed in temporary emergency accommodat­ion, and a further ten were advised and supported in fast tracking for rent supplement eligibilit­y.

One person refused an offer of temporary emergency accommodat­ion.

Another case involved a person deemed not eligible as they were from outside the county/non resident.

Councillor­s were also told that work is continuing on the developmen­t of a new Regional Homeless Action Plan
