Homeless figures continue to be area of concern across Louth
THERE were 47 people presenting as homeless to Louth County Council, in the latest figures presented to councillors.
The report on homelessness revealed that 22 people had presented in Dundalk as homeless, with a further 25 in the Drogheda district.
Councillors were also informed about the action taken in each of these cases.
In Dundalk ten people were placed in temporary emergency accommodation, and a further ten were advised and supported in fast tracking for rent supplement eligibility.
One person refused an offer of temporary emergency accommodation.
Another case involved a person deemed not eligible as they were from outside the county/non resident.
Councillors were also told that work is continuing on the development of a new Regional Homeless Action Plan
