Olula’s Quay contribution

-

QUAY striker Que Olula made the headlines in a week of scant action in the Dundalk Junior League. He hit the season’s highest individual tally in a single match so far as a big win by Quay over Fane propelled them to the top of the senior league.

He scored a double hat-trick to spearhead the new leaders to victory, as they chalked up eight goals, the others supplied by Vinny Smith and Mikey Nulty.

League leading marksman Sean Bailey was on target for Fane, along with Jamie O’Hare and James Green.

Walkovers were the order of the day as the planned resumption of action in the under-19 league failed to materialize.

Muirhevnamor received one from Shamrocks, but it was academic as they already were assured of a place in the knockout stages, having romped to five straight victories.

Another walkover meant, however, that Albion surrendered their position at the top of Group A, and were replaced by Redeemer by virtue of the points they received.

This group is wide open, with any of the four teams still in with a chance of qualifying semi-finals.
