Great celebrations for Milanda

-

ONE party that I definitely wasn’t going to miss last Saturday night was Milanda Kelly from Ath Lethan’s 50th which took place in the Clans and there to make sure she had an epic night were daughter Louise, sisters Audrey and Annette and brother Philip and a huge collection of family and friends.

I was only in the door when I met up with birthday girl Milanda who works in the Pastoral Centre and helps out in the Soup Kitchens and she wanted a special mention for her son Aaron who couldn’t make it to the party because he is over in Toronto, and also to thank everyone for coming to join in the celebrations.

Milanda then sent me over to meet up with her Belfast mates and they were Libby McGonnall, Seaneen Cushnan and Marie McGowan who told me that your Belfast mates are always the best mates in the world!

Seated close by was friend Una Conlon from Dawestown who wanted to wish Milanda all the best on her big night.

Next I headed over to a table where I got a word the Cavan Crew who included Sr. Anne Lyng, Bobby and Sharon Dunne and pp of Knockbridge Fr. Gerry Campbell originally from Magherafelt who is Milanda’s boss in the Pastoral Centre and they all wanted to wish her all the best on her big night.

Next I had the pleasure of talking to Lisa Dunne and Kathleen O’Kane both from Greenacres and Tanya Oliver from Mountain Court who are related to the birthday girl and were up for a totally mad one.

After this I caught with Martin and Lisa Gregory from Rockmarshall who were having a laugh with the birthday girl and wanted to wish her a very happy birthday.

I headed for a table where I had the pleasure of meeting up with a friend of Louise’s Grainne Halpenny from Darver and her main squeeze Robert Johnstown from Seatown who were getting ready for a major party night, I think?

Looking as young as ever was ‘ the ageless’ Liam Cassidy from Bay Estate who was with his delightful wife Annette who is Milanda’s sister Louise O’Rourke from Bay Estate with her beautiful daughter Karen, as well as the two Kathleen’s O’Kane from Greenacres and Doyle from Cedarwood Park who were going to make and epic night and no mistake.

They were also sitting in the company of Kathleen O’Hanlon from Bay Estate and Bernie Watters from Manydown Close who told me they used to work with Milanda in Stribel and wanted to wish her all the best on her big night.

Meanwhile over at another table I caught up with Liam and Annette’s daughters Cliona from Ashling Par and Geraldine who was with Stephen Stewart both from Larne and Karen whom I’d met earlier and they tried to tell me it was going to be a quiet celebration?

Next I had the pleasure meeting up with Moninne King from St. Alphonsus Road and Joy Guest from Seafield Lawns who wanted to wish her friend Milanda all the best on hr big night.

I then caught up with Milanda’s daughter Louie Kelly who was with her friend Niamh Holmes from Thistle Cross who were looking forward to the party and Louise said that she really hoped that her mum enjoyed the Elvis impersonator coming up later on in the evening!

After this I got talking to Claire and Neville Fleming from Belfast who were having a laugh with Malachy Kelly from Farndreg on the night.

Heading for another table I got talking to Mary Sherry, Mary Devlin and Brandy Campbell all from Emyvale (well Brandy actually hails from Texas but hangs her hat in Monaghan now) and they told me that they are all in the same theology class and Milanda is their administrator.

Not too far away I met up with Gerry and Patricia Savage from O’Hanlon Park who wanted to wish their friend all the best on her big night.

Finally. I headed for a table where I met up with Martin Bellew from Meadow Grove who was with Helena and Barry Kenna from Farndreg, Stephen and Nicola Kenna from Marian Park, Amanda Kenna from Farndreg, Philip O’Rourke and Edita Noi’iuliene both from Crossmaglen who wanted to wish Milanda a very happy birthday.
