Gardai renew appeal over missing woman

LITHUANIAN NATIONAL WAS LAST SEEN IN DUNDALK IN MAY

Gardai have renewed their appeal for anyone with informatio­n about Giedre Raguckaite, the 29 year old woman who was last seen in Hoey’s Lane on May 26, to get in touch with them.

Family and friends of Lithuanian national raised the alarm last month as she hasn’t been heard from since June 6, and she has been reported as a missing person in both Lithuania and Ireland. She is described as being 5’5” in height with a slight build, and has blonde hair and green eyes.

An incident room has been set up in Dundalk Garda Station and a Garda spokespers­on appealed for anyone with informatio­n regarding the whereabout­s of Diedre to contact them at 042 9388400.

A 29 year old man has been arrested and charged following a robbery at Cluan Enda Stores, St Alphonsus Road on Saturday.

The man entered the shop at 5.45pm and forced the shop assistant to hand over a small amount of cash. He fled on foot and was subsequent­ly arrested by Gardai close by.

Gardai also arrested a 28 year old man who was standing in the middle of the road at Oldbridge, Toberona, waving two iron bars over his head. The incident happened last Tuesday, September 4 at 7pm.

A 16 year old youth who attempted to steal a bicycle from Halfords, Dundalk Retail Park, on Tuesday afternoon, was arrested.

Gardai are investigat­ing two burglaries to houses at College Heights in the early hours of Saturday, September 8.

The occupants of a house discovered that a mobile phone, laptop and bicycle were stolen sometime between when they went to bed at 2am and 5.15am.

The occupant of a neighbouri­ng house found a person in the sitting room around 5.15am. The person left when requested, taking with them a packet of cigarettes.

A 50” Hitachi television set was stolen during a break-in to a house at Glenwood on Saturday evening between 5pm and 9.30pm.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving during the past week. Two people were also found to be in posses- sion of illegal drugs after they had been arrested and taken to Dundalk Garda Station. A 24 year old man from Newry was found to have cocaine with a street value of €40 on Thursday while a 27 year from Monaghan faces charges in relation to possession of cannabis and illegal tablets worth €110.
