Rape Cri­sis NE seek­ing vol­un­teers for helpline train­ing

THE Rape Cri­sis North East (RCNE) cen­tre are cur­rently re­cruit­ing vol­un­teers for their helpline.

A Helpline Train­ing Pro­gramme will com­mence on Thurs­day 8th Novem­ber 2018 and fin­ish on Fri­day 14th De­cem­ber 2018. The train­ing is free and in re­turn, vol­un­teers will be asked to com­mit to four hours of their time per week to pro­vide tele­phone coun­selling sup­port to sur­vivors of rape and sex­ual vi­o­lence.

The Cher­ry­wood Coun­selling Cen­tre, Great North­ern Dis­tillery Of­fices, Car­rick Road. The train­ing will in­clude 12 Day Work­shops over 6 Weeks (Thurs­days and Fri­days 9.00am to 4.00pm).

RCNE Helpline Ser­vice is a ‘ life­line’ for many vic­tims of rape and sex­ual abuse who need to talk to some­one who cares. All our tele­phone vol­un­teers are trained to lis­ten, sup­port and of­fer in­for­ma­tion and coun­selling sup­port to call­ers who use the line.
