THE Saturday of Camogie All Ireland Final weekend is also when the All Ireland under 14 Camogie County blitzes are played.

Louth under 14 squad take part in this hotly contested blitz, which is the first experience of intercount­y games for most of these players.

Louth currently play in Division 5, but based on their performanc­e THE Louth Camogie season reaches its pinnacle this Saturday with the final of the senior championsh­ip between St Brides and St Kevins.

This year the event takes place in St Mary’s in Ardee, this weekend, that could very well change.

Louth were drawn in a group with Monaghan, Roscommon & Wicklow and we managed to get through our group having beaten Monaghan and Wicklow with only a single loss to Roscommon. They secured their place in the semi Final with Tyrone and Louth completely dominated with the throw in at 6pm.

St Brides, who have been absent from the championsh­ip final for a few years, have been quietly building a championsh­ip team, which draws upon the some youthful this with a resounding 4-3 to 0-1 win The final was against Roscommon which was a much tougher affair with Roscommon coming away eventual victors. These girls represente­d the Wee county at the highest level and they did their team, mentors and their county proud. new additions who have made it up through the ranks as well as seasoned championsh­ip players.

St Kevin’s, the holders, will be looking for revenge for their defeat to St Brides dur- ing the championsh­ip round robin competitio­n.

One thing is for certain, you can expect sparks to fly from the throw in and this will be a hard fought close encounter. Gate is €5 / under 16s free.
