APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO ASSAULT

GARDAI APPEAL FOR INFORMATIO­N ON TWO YOUTHS AFTER ATTACK

Gardai are apealing for informatio­n, following reports that a man was assaulted by two teenagers in Clanbrassi­l Street.

The incident was reported to have occurred just after midnight on 21st September, when two youths who were on bicycles, assaulted the man, believed to have been in his 50s, and stole cash from him.

He sustained some injuries to his head, and gardai are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have informatio­n on the two teenagers to contact them at Dundalk on 042 93 88400 or the confidenti­al telephone on 1800 666 111.

Gardai are investigat­ing the theft of number plates from a vehicle parked outside a house in the Dundalk area last week.

The theft occurred at Kingswood, over night on the 20th to 21st September, and gardai have appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them.

Two blades, a Stanley knife and a bread knife were uncovered during a stop and search at Yorke Street last week.

A youth was stopped by gardai on patrol at around 4a.m on 19th September. He was found to have dropped one of the blades, and was in possession of the other.

Meanwhile gardai are investigat­ing three separate alleged drugs finds.

There were two incidents along the Castletown Road and a third at Stapletown place, where illegal substances were reported to have been discovered.

A woman reported an assault at Annaverna, Ravensdale last week. Money was also alleged to have been taken from her during the incident. Gardai are investigat­ing
