Gardai continue crackdown on illegal drug dealing

GARDAI continued their efforts to crackdown on illegal drug dealing in Dundalk when they searched two houses in Muirhevnam­or last Wednesday.

A quantity of drugs including tablets, cannabis herb, cocaine and methadone and drug parapherna­lia were seized. A 19 year old man was arrested following the search.

A 24-year-old man was found to be in possession of €2,000 worth of cocaine and €120 worth of cannabis herb after he was arrested at The Crescent, on Friday at 5pm.

Gardai also detected peo- ple in possession of drugs at Aghameen Park on Friday, and at Ramparts Lane and Castleross on Saturday.

A 46-year-old man was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a screwdrive­r at Nicholas Street at 2.50am last Tuesday.

Gardai are investigat­ing a burglary at Pizza Hut, Dublin road on Sunday morning in which a credit card machine was stolen. There was also a burglary at Tool Fix, Echo Road at 3.45am on Monday, in which a cash box containing a small amount of cash stolen.
