Logic to budget leaks

WE can’t claim to have been surprised or disappointed by Budget 2019.

It was all well leaked prior to the Minister giving his speech last Tuesday afternoon.

It must be policy these days to leak the budget, to gauge reaction, then you have the chance to row back and remove any toxic elements which have gone down like a lead balloon with the general public.

Any kites are shot down by adverse public reaction. Very clever indeed. Political savvy. Certainly when the Dáil arithmetic is so tight.
