LOURDES COMMITTEE

Kilkerley Lourdes Committee will have an open informatio­n meeting this Saturday, October 20, after 6.00pm mass in the Community Centre for anyone interested in travelling to Lourdes next May 16 – 21. Youth workers will also be needed and the Diocesan Youth Officer Dermot Kelly will attend on Saturday and speak on youth workers role. Informatio­n leaflets and booking forms will also be available.

Dancing Dancing in the Community Centre continues this Sunday night October 21, with music by Blue Magic. Country Pride play on October 28, Brian McDermott on November 4, J and S Sound on November 11, Adrian Ryan on November 18 and White Lightening on November 25. Dancing from 9.00pm to midnight.

BOWLS

Bowls continue in the Community Centre from 7.45pm each Wednesday night. New members welcome.

BADMINTON

Badminton for adults in the Community Centre on Monday nights from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. All over 18 welcome.

PARISH NEWS

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m. Please pray for Patsy Gernon, Greyacre, Michael Tuite, Sportsmanh­all, Peggy Dolan, Thomastown, Thomas Lamont, Blackrock, Eileen Meegan, Inniskeen, Mary Doherty, Carlingfor­d who died recently. Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month at 10.00am mass. Confession will take place after 6.00p.m Mass on Saturdays and before Mass on First Fridays If you wish to have your home blessed please contact Fr Gerry or Fr Paddy. At masses this weekend October20/21 parishione­rs can voluntary donate non- perishable goods which can be left in the church in aid of Dundalk Soup Kitchen. A representa­tive from the Soup Kitchen will speak at masses this weekend. Prayer for inner healing takes place in the church this Saturday, October 20, from 2-6.00pm. The Church Choir is looking for more members so please contact Fidelma Bellew or the priests. A second collection will be taken up at masses this weekend in aid of missionary work. The Foroige Club continues each Friday evening at 8.00pm in the Community Centre as does Lady Birds, Brownies and Girl Guides.

PASTORAL COUNCIL

The first meeting of the new pastoral council for Kilkerley Knockbridg­e Parishes takes place on Tuesday October 30 at 9.00pm in Knockbridg­e Parochial House. The Council will be commission­ed in St Marys Church at 7.30pm mass on November 3.

EMMETS GFC

Congratula­tions to the girls U14 team and mentors on beating Cooley in the Division One League final 2-4 to 0-9 in Stabannon on Friday night. Well done to one and all. The U11 Boys took part in the first round of the Ogsport winter league under lights in Darver. Opponents

on the night were Knockbridg­e who gave the lads a good test but Kilkerley emerged victorious at the final whistle. There was a great turnout of players and everyone put in a super effort, good catching, passed the ball accurately and there was some excellent scores, well done to all. Thanks to everyone for making the trip.The boys look forward to taking part in the rest of the Ogsport Winter League which will be held in Darver under lights over the next five Friday evenings.
