Accolades flow for Zoe’s latest music project

-

Fiddler Zoë Conway, who has just been named as Dundalk Credit Union’s cultural ambassador, is one of the musicians nominated for Folk Instrumentalist 2018 in RTE Radio 1 Folk Awards taking place in Vicar Street on Thursday October 25.

This comes as accolades flow in for her latest project ‘Allt’, a beautiful collection of newly crafted songs and tunes by Zoë and her husband guitarist John McIntyre, folk singer Julie Fowlis, and bouzouki player Éamon Doorley.

Recorded live in the round, ‘Allt’ is the culmination of a composition project inspired by old and new Gaelic poetry from Scotland and Ireland.

It was Zoë and Julie who came up with the idea, and the project became reality thanks to support from Create Louth, the Arts Council of Ireland and Colmcille.
