DGS get All Shock Up for new show

TRAVEL back in time with Dundalk Grammar School as they stage ‘All Shook Up’ the 2004 American musical showcasing the music of Elvis Presley.

The show takes place in 1955, somewhere in middle America, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock ‘n’ roll.

The cast of All Shook Up characters include Natalie (played by Hazel Williams), Dennis (Max Valentine), Jim Haller (Osgar Sullivan), Sylvia (Roisin Crowe), Lorraine (Caragh O’Reilly), Chad (Aaron Tham), Mayor Matilda Hyde (Emma Graham), Dean Hyde (Richard Dunne), Sheriff Earl (Tadhg Coleman), and Miss Dandra (Ayesha Murphy-Jallali).

A strong troupe of aspiring actors, singers, dancers and musicians take to the stage in this production directed by Mrs O’Connor-Moneley. The choreograp­hy has been led by Ms O’Reilly, Ms Verdes and Ms R. Matthews. Mr. Keegan was headed the set design and constructi­on team.

This wonderful musical features classics such as ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, ‘Burning Love’, ‘Love Me Tender’, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love,’ ‘Jailhouse Rock’,’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘ A Little Less Conversati­on’, ‘ Hound Dog’, ‘Don’t Be Cruel’, and of course, ‘All Shook Up’.

The show takes place in the Finnamore Hall, Dundalk Grammar School’s multi-purpose hall, opening tomorrow Wednesday for three nights at 7.30pm sharp.
