New study hub opens

A new local supervised study service for secondary school students in Dundalk has opened. DC Study Hub is based in the Magnet Pastoral Centre, Dundalk. It is owned and run by local and experience­d secondary school teachers.

At present, DC Study Hub are offering a special price of just €40 for one week of supervised study, from October 30th to November 2nd (9:30am to 3:30pm) and Saturday November 3rd (9am to 1).

For just €40, students will have a safe, distractio­n free, supervised area in which to study. Also offered are education resources and a study pack, which offers tips and advice on studying and approachin­g exams.

Owned by Declan Curran, a local business and accounting teacher, DC Study Hub aims assist junior and leaving cert students in their preparatio­n for exams during this crucial period while also offering in- formation, support, assistance and guidance.

Declan believes it is absolutely vital that students commence studying early during their exam year, to develop good habits and also, avoid last minute panic or cramming. By attending DC Study Hub, parents and students can be assured that students will get their studies done and still have the freedom to enjoy their mid-term break.

Declan has advised that while there may be room for students who turn up on the day and that they will attempt to make sure all are accommodat­ed. However, he cannot guarantee that places will be available and therefore it is vital that you contact him quickly to secure your place.
