MEMORIES OF PARALYMPIC CHAMPION

-

Bush Post Primary School recently held its annual Student Award Ceremony. The school community gathered together to recognise and honour special achievements both academic and altruistic and graduating students from 2018 travelled home from colleges throughout the country to collect their awards.

The guest speaker was Eve McCrystal, double Paralympic Irish Tandem medallist who captivated the audience with her school memories and honest advice about wellbeing and the importance of looking out and looking after everyone within the school community. ‘Not every day will be a great day’ she said but it is important that students notice the quiet student among them and to take the time to talk and check in with them to ensure that they are okay and know they have someone to talk to. She outlined the sacrifices she has made to date to achieve her goals but also emphasised the capacity and value that every student has within them to be the best they can be.

Representatives and sponsors from local businesses attended including, Bellurgan Precision, Oxy Arc, Sheelan Kitchens, Rumbles Restaurants, CTI Design and Communication, Four Seasons Carlingford, Mr Tommy Healy, LAN Consultants, Mr Michael Matthews, Anchor Tours & Mrs Eileen O’Connell.
