Sharks hold the Cabin crew

-

AFTER last Thursday night’s action in the Dundalk and District Dart league, only one team remains with a 100% record.

Whilst Avenue Celtic ground out a 4-2 win over a very strong Bodhran team, Uncle Toms Cabin’s long unblemished record ended with a 3-3 draw at home to the Punters Sharks.

Team captain Mickey Kelly got the Sharks off to a flyer, but John Lawlor and Tommy McCartney then appeared to put the champions in control.

However, victories for Bob Morgan and Gavin Brannigan turned the match on its head, before Gerard McCartney tied things up in the finale.

The Punters Sharks extended their lead in division one by defeating the Stags Head 4-2 in a pulsating match. Ray Harte was the star of the show with Simon Wykes best for the Linenhall Street outfit.

There is now a three way tie for second place in this division as Harrys Bar and Commercial Classics had hard-fought 4-2 wins over McManus’ Maniacs and the Bodhran Blues respectively with Aidan Thompson showing he had lost none of his touch for the Club.

With the Stags Blue ending the Bodhran Eagles 100% record in a 3-3 thriller in which Dessie O’Rourke and Brian Ward were outstanding, an unusual situation occurred where all four matches ended all square.

Meanwhile, Courtneys held the Castle Bar Knights, while Callans and the Clans showed they are starting to find their feet by sharing the spoils with the Bodhran Hawks and Commercial Celtic.
