HELEN Clarke, Heynestown, Blackrock, Dundalk, passed away in her own home surrounded by her family on 11 October, 2018.
Helen was the youngest daughter of the late Richard and Mary Clarke (nee Wray).
She attended St. Fursey’s N.S. and later St Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk.
Following her education, Helen had a very successful working career and travelled abroad through her employment with Keytronic, to Spokane in Washington State, France and Scotland.
She was very artistic and excelled with every challenge she took on. She loved walking, gardening, animals, anything to do with nature.
Helen loved traveling; Italy was her favourite destination for holidays. She also enjoyed short holiday breaks here in Ireland with her sisters.
Her infectious good humour and wit made for good company; she had the gift for cheering others up.
She passed in this world in the same dignified manner in which she had lived her life. Her innate courtesy,good nature and good humour endeared her to many, as was evident by the large attendance at her home and funeral Mass.
Helen, a quietly religious person, had great faith and this was a big help to her in the face of such adversity.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her brother Noel, father Richard, and her dear mother Mary.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard (Dundalk), John (Louth), William (Blackrock); sisters, Maria O’Flaherty (Heynestown), Pauline Matthews (Readypenny), Bernadette Finnegan (Heynestown) and Winifred Quigley (Faughart); her nephews and nieces, brothers-in-law, sistersin-law and wide family circle.
After reposing at her residence Helen’s remains were received in St. Fursey’s Church, Haggardstown by Rev. Fr Brian White C.C who concelebrated Requiem Mass together with Rev Dermot Clarke, Deacon.
The beautiful music was provided by Helen’s sister-in-law Ann with soloist Annemarie Conlon.
The eulogy in tribute to Helen was read by her sister Maria O’Flaherty.
Interment took place in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. The prayers at the graveside were led by Fr. White.
