Classy Dundalk girls reach top tier

-

DUNDALK RFC U18 girls have been promoted to the Leinster League Premier Division for the first time in the club’s history.

This group of talented players and their coaches Suzanne Flynn, Dermot Lennon, Linda Valentine and Kevin Conway have made our club extremely proud and thoroughly deserve this phenomenal achievement.

Many Dundalk RFC coaches who have nurtured and developed the talent and skill set of these girls and the club thank them for their commitment to them and their belief in them including Sabrina Maguire who has had a phenomenal influence on girls rugby in Dundalk, Chris Scully, Maria Cartwright, Laurence Steen and Sharon Toal, all of whom have played a significant part in putting girls rugby in Dundalk on the map. GLENMORE AC senior athletes took part in the very popular and well organised Wild Goose Chase 10k race in Reaghstown on Sunday.

Peter Noone led the way in 39:22, followed by Bridget McGreehan 58:08, Dara Fagan 58:42 and Vicky Leahy 1:05:21.

The equally popular Operation Bush4mation kicks off on 7th January for four four weeks at the Bush track at a cost of €50.

FOR an ideal Christams Gift why not avail of the early bird registration on Monday 10th December between 7 - 8 pm at the track.

With a programme packed full of activities to kick start beginners or to motivate others there’s something to suit everyone.
