EXCELLENT SURPRISE PARTY IN THE BIG HOUSE

-

ONE party I certainly wasn’t going to miss last week was Martin Laverty from Bay Estate’s surprise 40th which was held in The Big House and there to make sure he had an excellent night was his wife Lorraine, sisters Fiona and Orla, brother Niall, parents Bridie and Pat and Lorraine’s parents Lorraine and Michael McKeown and huge collection of family, workmates and friends.

I was only in the door when I got a quick word with Mark who works in Dash IT who wanted a big shout out for his kids Lauren and Oisin and a big thank you to their Big Bro Francie who was on babysitting duties on the night.

Making my way over to the first table I caught up with Mark’s sisters Fiona McQuillan from Greenacres and Orla Fitzsimons from Inniskeen who were with sister-in-law Mary Laverty from Ard Easmuinn and Siobhan Coleman from Dromiskin who were there to party the night away and Fiona wanted to wish happy 40th to her favourite brother.

At an adjacent table I got talking to Paul Hanks from Oaklawns and Stephen Cahill from Greenacres who have been mates with Mark for years and were there for a major celebration night.

Not too far away I met up with Alan and Bernadette Browne from Belfry Avenue and Aidan and Sharon Browne also from Belfry Avenue and the lads have been buddies with Mark for years and tried to tell me it wasn’t going to be too late of a night.

After this I got a word with Colin Keaskin from Laurel Grove who was having a chat with Margaret Condon from Dublin Road and Derek Kerr from Greenacres and the boys said they grew up with Mark and were expecting the party to be finished by 7, unfortunately they didn’t say what day!

Next, I had the pleasure of talking to Mark’s wife Lorraine who told me the party was a compete surprise to him, he thought he was heading for a table quiz and arrived in to find everyone there!

I then caught up with Shane and Dalton Dullaghan from Dash where Mark works who wanted to wish him all the best on his big night and went on to say they were missing fellow workmate Paul McKenna who hadn’t recovered from the Dash Christmas Party the previous night!

Not too far away I then got talking to Annmarie Agnew from Greenacres and Catherine Cavanagh from Medebawn who wanted to wish Mark, Dundalk’s 2nd biggest Everton fan a very happy 40th (Catherine’s husband Martin Agnew is number 1, in case you were wondering)!

Next, I caught up with some Mark’s long time friends Gerard Matthews from Medebawn, Jason McConville and Conor Murphy from Greenacres who are football and snooker buddies and were founder members of the Avenue Inn Celtic football team along with the late Jim Keating.

Meanwhile over at another table I met mumin-law Lorraine McKeown from Bay Estate who was with cousin Ann Clifford from Dublin who was with daughter Bronagh and boyfriend Shane McEoin from Dublin, Cathal Clifford who was giving out free advice on how to deal with me and Brian Clifford from Dublin who were all in rare form and having a fantastic night.

At an adjacent table I then met up with Neville Cuthbert and Bridie Laverty from Greenacres who were with Robbie Ramsay from Rocky Hill and Ann Keaskin from Laurel Grove who wanted to wish Mark all the best on his big night.

Not too long later I got talking to Lorraine’s cousin and his wife Robbie and Stephanie Gavin from Woodbury Gardens who wanted to wish Mark all the best on the mad night it was.

Finally, before I departed, I got talking to David Reilly from Garrybawn who was having a laugh with Stephen and Siobhan Coleman from Dromiskin and the lads wanted to wish their cousin Mark a very happy 40.
