Sharon Corr to play Irish dates

DUNDALK singer Sharon Corr, who last year moved to live in Madrid with her husband Gavin Bonnar and their two children, Cathal (13) and Flori (12) is to join California­n star Vonda Sheppard on a tour of Ireland and the US in March,

Sharon and siblings Jim, Caroline and Andrea are the most successful act to have every come out of Dundalk, releasing a host of hits in the 1990s and early 2000s.

They got together for a reunion in 2015, releasing the album White Light in 2015 and Juniper Calling in 2017. Sharon has enjoyed a success- ful solo career and has released two albums, Dream of You and The Same Sun to date.

For this tour she is joining Vonda Sheppard, who has sold over twelve million albums and has won two Golden Globes, two Emmy Awards and two Screen Actor’s Guild awards. She also holds the Billboard prize for selling the most T.V. soundtrack­s in history, for her work on Ally McBeal.

The tour will see them playing Belfast’s Empire Music Hall on March 13 and The Button Factory, Dublin the following night.

In an interview with Vanity Fair last year, Sharon explained that her children and husband wanted to live in a big city, and Madrid was the natural choice as they had been studying Spanish for years.

‘I also like the idea that there are places where they can have access to all kinds of artistic discipline­s,’ she said. ‘I love getting lost in the city and discoverin­g new places.’

Sharon has been spotted sitting in the front row for the Lexdeux show at Madrid Fashion Week recently and attended Vanity Fair Spain’s Personalit­y of the Year gala in September.
