Public meeting on migrant intergration
LOUTH County Council are inviting people to have their say about migrant integration issues in counties Louth and Meath with a series of public meetings, including one which will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel next Tuesday, February 5.
Louth County Council and Meath County Council are developing a joint Migrant Integration Strategy for 2019-22 and would like to hear people’s views on the types of issues that need to be addressed in the area, for example, accessing public services, finding a job, learning English, taking part in sports or arts activities or connecting with the local host communities in the area.
The population of Counties Louth and Meath have become more diverse over the last number of years. It is timely for both counties to focus on integration and inclusion of new communities and to consider what is needed to enable the areas to enjoy the benefits of diversity.
Effective integration requires on-going engagement by migrants, public services, businesses and communities. People can also contribute their views through an online Counties Louth and Meath Migrant Integration Strategy e-survey. The survey can be accessed to the survey via the Louth County Council and Meath County Council websites after the public meetings.
Those planning on going to the public meeting should register at 048 90667772 or email michelle.morgan@bluzebra.co.uk.
