-

CHRISTMAS is over and with the turn of the New Year thoughts of holidays brighten up our moods. The thought of spending time in the sun, going on a dream cruise or taking on an adventure, a city break or whatever tickles your fancy is what makes the humdrum of life worthwhile, to get away and enjoy ourselves in the way that we like most.

O’Callaghan Travel based in the middle of town in Boyd’s Shopping Centre, Clanbrassil Street has for 40 years been making those dreams, small and large come true for their many customers.

In this special anniversary year the company, which was founded in February 1979, is to give customers an extra hand to make their chosen dream holidays come true making them really enjoyable and memorable.

One lucky customer will at least have a big part oftheir vacation paid for, as O’Callaghan Travel is giving away a voucher which is the star prize in a raffle that is free to enter.

An opportunity to do that will come on Sunday, February 3 when O’Callaghan Travel has organised a Holiday World style Travel Show that will take place in Ballymascanlon Hotel.

The event will save customers the journey and expense of travelling out of town to get all the best advice and deals, with all the leading holiday suppliers and experts whose names are instantly recognisable agreeing to take part in the show, catering for all types of vacations and breaks from boat and river cruises to sun breaks, all sorts of guided tours and trips to those exotic and unusual places, as well as those loved by children to the likes of Lapland and Disneyland.

Whatever your choice, you’ll be able to talk to the experts on the day to steer you in the right direction and make it as easy as possible to go on the holiday that you desire.

The show will run from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday 3rd February. In addition spot prizes will also be handed out on the day.

The chance to win the holiday voucher will also be open to all who book holidays with the company throughout February with the draw being held at the end of February.

O’Callaghan Travel possesses a vast wealth of experience with a highly professional and helpful staff who are prepared to do everything they can to ensure their holiday is the highlight of the year for customers.

They have built up a friendly relationship with customers who know they can trust and rely on staff they have been booking and arranging holidays through for years to do everything in their best interests.

Dorothy Duffy has been with the company since it was started and epitomises the calibre of the staff.

Leo O’Callaghan and Marie Kelledy opened the business at 46 Dublin Street where it operated for years. The company opened a second office in Boyd’s Centre in 1994. Then in 2000 the business was consolidated in Boyd’s Centre and eight years ago in 2011 another significant milestone occurred.

Two staff members Maria Neary and Majella Babington took over as joint owners, and manage and run the business with the invaluable help of the loyal staff. They look forward to serving the holiday needs of all their customers and indeed new customers for years to come. Photos: Aidan Dullaghan/Newspics.
