Clans man Cormac celebrates his 40th with family and friends

-

ONE party I certainly wasn’t going to miss last weekend was the 40th being held for Cormac Woods from Headford and there to make sure he had a great night was wife Grainne, kids Jade, Zara and Calum, parents Sean and Theresa and a huge collection of family, friends and well wishers.

Cormac who works for Rehab Group has been a Clansman all his life and recently became club Treasurer was also joined by his brothers and sisters and included Jennifer, Noel and Ruby Murphy from Rampark, Raymond and Sheena Woods from Lennonstown Manor, Aidan and Lisa Woods from Ashling Park ho were to make sure he had a fantastic night.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with Mickey and Majella Woods from Fatima Court who wanted to wish their friend a very happy 40th.

After this I met up with uncle Mickey and Marie Foley from O’Hanlon Park who wanted to wish Cormac a very happy birthday and hoped he had a great night.

They were sitting with David Gonnelly from Rathmore, Barry Brady from Oakland Park and Conor Woods from Ashling Park who was sitting with his parents Lisa and Aidan who told me the Woods family don’t have a quiet celebration, they have a good one!

Not too long later I met up with Paul McCrory from Coulter Place who said he was an old footballing buddy and school mate and wouldn’t have missed the party for anything. He was there with his mum Maria McCrory who is a friend of Cormac’s mum Theresa and they were having a lovely time.

Making my way over to another table I then got talking to Geraldine, Martin, Deirdre and Gavin McCormick all from Assumption Place who are all family friends and told me it was going to be a wild night for sure.

After this I met up with Kevin Travers from Lordship who was having a laugh with Wayne and Nicola Kilcoyne from Lisdoo, Karen and Aidan Crummy from Silverbridge who all wanted to wish Cormac all the best on his big night.

Aidan told me his son Kai is coached by Cormac and he was chatting to Cian Jeffers from Garrybawn who works for Cormac’s Football Foundation and were enjoying the party.

Heading for another table I met up with Mary Myles from Lis Na Dara who was with husband Damian and kids Kodi and Blake who were with Majella Woods, Siobhan Quill from Saltown and sister-in-law Bernadette Browne from Belfry Avenue who all wanted to wish Cormac a very happy birthday.

Meanwhile up at the bar I met up with ‘Jukebox Gerry’ who is better known as Gerry McGee from Weddings DJ Ireland who assured me it was going to be a night of solid sounds from the 70s and 80s to the present day.

Also up near the bar I then had the pleasure of meeting up with Grace Smyth from Point Road who was with Karl O’Connor from Cedarwood Park and Donal Boyle from Lis Na Dara. The lads told me they are Clansmen just like Cormac and wanted to wish hm all the best on his big night.

Not too far away I got a word with Mary Duffy from Belfry Avenue who was just after arriving in with fellow Clansman Brian Duffy and they were ready fr a major night of fun.

Making my way over to the table where all the buzz was, I then got talking to Cormac’s daughter Zara who was with Ellie Mulligan from Newtownbalregan, Aoife Savage from Kilcurry, Kodi Myles from Lis Na Dara and Eimear Whitmarsh from Kilcurry who were the main focus and were the life of the party.

Meanwhile over at another table I then got talking to Máire McGeown from Marian Park whose husband told me that when he was growing up, Cormac was definitely one of the best footballers to be seen on the green.

After this I got a word with cousins Sinead McCrave from Oaklawns, Nadine Kelly from Barton Park, Maeve and Niall Woods from Kingswood who wanted to wish uncle Cormac all the best on his big night.

At an adjacent table I then got talking to family members Sheena Rice and Raymond Woods from Lennonstown Manor, Miriam and Gerry Woods from Kingswood, Padraig McGrane from Oaklawns, Noel and Jenny Murphy from Rampark who were with parents Sean and Teresa who were all having a fantastic time.

Finally, before I departed, I got talking to fellow Clansman Peter Fitzpatrick from Belfry Gardens who was with Anne and daughters Daramay and Grace who all wanted to wish Cormac had a fantastic night and a very happy 40th.
