PARISH NEWS

Please pray for Larry King, Clontigora, Newry, Philo Byrne, McDermott’s Tce, who died recently. Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church followed by Benedictio­n at 10.00p.m. Confession­s are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request. If you wish to have your home blessed please contact Fr Gerry or Fr Paddy. The Church Choir is looking for new members so if you are interested please contact Grainne or the priests. Confirmati­on takes place on Friday, April 5, at 11.00am. The Finance Committee meet this Wednesday, February 6, at 8.00pm.

Shelagh Vintage Club would like to thank everyone who supported and help out with our club in 2018.

Lights Up

Naomh Malachi are now on board with Operation Transforma­tion and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Thursday from now until – 21st February 2019 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Registrati­on takes place each night from 7pm.

All current members welcome to take part, and any non current members from within community can of course get registered and participat­e in this fun activity. Please speak with any committee member in relation to membership registrati­on.

FOLK MUSIC

& Ireland

The fantastic Irish folk band, All Folkd Up will be appearing in Naomh Malachi GFC clubrooms

on Saturday 23rd February. This brilliant band are just back from touring in the United States and are sure to be a highlight of our social calendar to have them in our club!

FOOTBALL MATTERS

Senior Football training is now back on every Sunday morning at 10am in Naomh Malachi GFC. We are making a major drive to secure any new talent to join our senior set up for 2019. Anybody within or outside the direct community who would be interested in helping out our team, whilst gaining a new past time in a team environmen­t for the coming year, please get in contact with Aidan fee ASAP. 0858672406

Your presence would be extremely welcome and a guarantee of football within our club.

If anybody knows of any relations etc who are possibly out of football for any time, please encourage them to get back involved by joining a welcoming club like Naomh Malachi GFC. It is currently very tough times for small rural clubs all over Ireland, so very important that we get all eligible players to be involved to ensure the future of this club.

IRISH DANCING

Scoil Rince Móna Ní Rodaigh have re-commenced Irish dancing classes. The classes will be on every Saturday morning from 10.00 am–11.30 am in Naomh Malachi GFC and will continue on a weekly basis. All welcome from local community and surroundin­g areas (Cullaville, Crossmagle­n, Kilkerley, Inniskeen, etc) to attend regardless of experience. Boys and girls from aged 4 upwards! Anybody looking to get their children involved in a new cultural pastime over the winter months, this is a great opportunit­y to do so.
