Special night at St Peter’s NS Gala Ball

-

ON Friday night I headed for Bellingham Castle where the 2nd annual St. Peters National School Black Tie Ball was taking place and a huge crowd had turned out specially for the occasion.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with school principal Aoibheann Lynch from Mullaharlin Road who was there with Kevin Lawless from Ardee Road who told me the organisers, the Parents Council had done an excellent job and she was really looking forward to working closely with them.

Next, I met up with David and Anne McGuinness from Dromiskin who assured me the ball was going to be an excellent night and they were ready to rock’n’roll.

I then caught up with an extremely busy lady in Laureen O’Connor with husband Alan from Dromena Road. Laureen was busy making sure the night was running smoothly and if it was to have the success of the previous night, they’d all be delighted.

Making my way through the crowds I then met up with Alice Gibney and Delores Hanneffy both from Dromiskin whose kids had all gone to St. Peters and they were delighted to be there to support the school.

After this I headed over for a chat with Kevin and Miriam Boyle from Dromiskin who said they have had two of their children go through the school and they still have one attending and were definitely there to make the best of the ball.

I then headed over for a chat with Michelle and Ken Farrelly from Dromiskin who said that Evan and Ella are in the school and they think it really is a great school.

Not too long later I caught up with Robert and Amanda Kinahan from Dromiskin who told me it was going to be a fantastic night and anything but a quiet affair.

Just arrived in the door were Mary and Phil Price from Williamstown who told me this was their first time at the ball and were really looking forward to a lovely night with everyone there.

I then met up with Colette and Seamus Woods from Beech Grove who were there representing Connect Credit Union in Kilsaran and were looking forward a great time.

Making my way through the huge crowds I then got a word with Paula and Darren Finnegan from Commons Road who have to kids at the school and was really looking forward to having a laugh with all the other parents.

Next, I got talking to Melissa and Micheal Mackin from Dromiskin who had been at the original Black Tie night last year and said it was brilliant, they were just hoping for more of the same!

I headed over for a word with teacher who also has kids at the school Maria O’Rourke and Declan Watters both from Drogheda who were delighted to be there amongst her workmates and parents and assured me it was going to be an excellent night.

After this I got talking to a group who included Rory and Niamh Hand, Mark and Kate Gorham, Enda and Catriona McKeown, Brian and Fiona Campbell all from Dromiskin who were all there to make the best of the ball and were in great form.

Finally, before I departed, I then got talking to Audrey and David Reilly from Dromiskin who had been at the first ball and were looking forward to more of the same fun as the previous year.
