There is a host of events taking place across the Easter break for children of all ages

-

EASTER is just around the corner and Spring is in the air with the sun finally making an appearance and the daffodils blooming.

As the school holidays start, local children are looking forward to a visit from the Easter bunny and the shops are full of colourful Easter eggs of all shapes and sizes.

There’s plenty to keep the kids occupied over the break, with lots of Easter camps and fun days out.

The Easter bunny has become a strong tradition in recent years, with children looking forward to an annual easter egg hunt collecting chocolate bunnies, eggs and treats along the way.

The local area has lots to offer for anyone wishing to expend some of their child’s energy and provide some much needed fun over the holidays.

From Easter egg hunts to classes and learning activities, there is a host of events taking place across the Easter break for children of all ages.

Since its origins, Easter has been a time of celebration and feasting and many Traditional Easter games and customs developed, such as egg rolling, egg tapping, pace egging and egg decorating.

Today Easter is commercially important, with worldwide sales of greeting cards and confectionery such as chocolate Easter eggs, marshmallow bunnies, hot cross buns and jelly beans as well as other Easter foods.

Of course Easter is a time of celebration and a religious holiday for those who celebrate the Christian faith.

Special ceremonies will take place in Churches throughout the local area to mark Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
