Two in a row for Cooley in Drogheda

COOLEY Kickhams picked up a much-needed brace of points when they claimed victory over O Raghallaig­hs in the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday evening.

There wasn’t much to choose between the teams in the first half but the peninsula side came good in second half and led by the scoring of Emmet Rogan and Fearghal Malone, they went on to win by five points.

The visitors kicked some good points in the first half but the O Raghallaig­hs worked hard to stay in touch and a goal from Ben Rogan ensured the teams went in at the break level at 1-3 to 0-6.

The home side saw their challenge fade in the second half as Cooley upped the pace and with Aoghain McGuinness and Michael Rafferty also contributi­ng vital scores, they went on to record a comfortabl­e win.
