Kickhams to celebrate 40th anniversary of Minor win

COOLEY Kickhams celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1979 Minor Championship victory when they gather in the Complex at Monksland on this coming Saturday, November 9.

The event starts at 7.30pm and a number of other famous victories are also due for celebration. The 1989 and 1990 double Senior Championship successes will also be recognised on this the 30th anniversary of that historic achievement.

The 1979 Minor victory saw Cooley compete in their eleventh final. The opposition was 7.30pm. All are welcome!

A Fashion Show in aid of St. Oliver’s National School, Carlingford, takes place in the Ghan House, Carlingford, on Friday November 15, commencing at 10am.

The event is organised to buy sensory and other essential equipment for the school. There will be a raffle on the day and lots of exciting discounts from Lush, McArdles and Unique Boutiques.

The Carlingford/Omeath parish lotto draw took place on Tuesday night last, October 29.

The numbers drawn were 16, 20, 21 and 28 but there was no jackpot provided by Naomh Buithe from Collon, the holders of the title. Cooley were superior on the day and ran out winners by 2-11 to 1-8. At senior level in 1989, Cooley beat Ardee in the Senior final and went on to add the League title later in the year. In 1990 the opposition in the winner. First Aid Course for Parents has been organised for the Bush Post Primary School beginning on this Tuesday, November 5.

This is a six week programme and is free of charge. It takes place in the school in the Parents Room (number 37) from 10am until 12 noon.
