Special birthday party for John in the Lisdoo

-

ON Friday night I headed for the Lisdoo where a rather special 50th birthday party was taking place for John Conlon from Carlingford and there to make sure he had a great night were wife Lorraine, daughter Emily, parents Sean and Moira Conlon from Kilcurry, brother Ciaran, sister Marie and a huge collection of family and friends.

I was only in the door when I met up with Danielle O’Shaughnessy from Mountpleasant and Paula and Steven Hearty from Beechmount Drive who wanted to wish all the best to John on his big night.

They were sitting with Kim Hearty from Beechmount Drive and Tracey O’Hanrahan from Point Road who told me they are all old mates of the birthday boy and were up for making the best of the party.

Not to long later I met nieces Aoife and Sinead Conlon from Cooley who were playing with John’s daughter Emily and were up for a good night with everyone there.

Heading for another table I then got a word with Michael and Ann Murphy from Mucklagh who were with parents-in-law Phyllis and Bernard Murphy from Ballagan who were ready to party the night away.

After this I headed over for a word with cousin Shane Fee from Beechmount Drive who was sitting with aunty Evelyn Conlon from Mount Avenue, cousins Paul Fee and Margaret Conlon from Beechmount Drive who tried to tell me it was going to be a quiet night.

I then met up with Malle Pihl from Carrickmacross who was with John’s uncle Robert Moore from Carrickmacross and they wanted to wish all the best to John on his big night.

Making my way through the crowds I then got talking to sister-in-law Sheila Conlon from Ath Lethan and cousin Sinead Allen from Poyntzpass who were up for a mad night and assured me it was going to be an epic night.

Heading for another table I met up with aunty Deirdre Moore from Beechmount Drive and godmother Margaret Logan from Blackrock who were ‘ having a ball’ and couldn’t wait for the music to get going so they could get out on the dancefloor!

After this I got a word with Karen English from Caste Heights and cousin Anne McGeown from Redbarns Road who said it was a real blast from the past and was going to be a fantastic night.

Not too far away I got talking to cousin Mary Logan and Chris Mellon both from Point Road who were on for a major night of fun and wanted to wish John all the best on his big night.

Heading for the bar I then got talking to ‘partners in crim’ Ciaran Conlon and Barry McEntee from Monaghan who had some epic tales of when they shared a house in Dublin. Ciaran was with wife Bernadette and kids Sean and Donagh and wanted to wish his bro all the best.

Beside them I then got a word with Liam Gaskin from Williamsons Place who is a Punters buddy of John’s and was in great form when I caught up with him.

Not too far away from Liam, I met up with Colette Dolan from Blackrock, Michael Noone from Legion Avenue, Derek English from Castle Heights, Noel Gormley from Willow Grove, Andy Sheehy from Silverbridge, Mark McGeown from Riverside Drive and Greg Gormley from Lis Na Dara who were up for a wild one with their friend John.

Finally before I departed, I met up with Ozzy and Siobhan McGrath who are neighbours of John and Lorraine’s in Willville and wanted to wish him a very happy 50th.
