New Brubakers open to the public

-

ON Saturday night I eventually managed to get to the brand new Brubakers in Park Street which underwent major renovations over the last number of months and re-opened last week as an outstanding premise for social gathering and has divided into a number distinct area.

On entering the covered alleyway, the first option is Bru’s Bar an open and spacious front bar which contains a restaurant dedicated to party food such as pizza and nachos etc and has a fine range of beers and cocktails. The Courtyard bar in the heated central piece of the experience which allows people to an outdoor drink experience and this leads to the Henry Bar which is another great bar that views out onto the courtyard. Upstairs is a cocktail bar with even better views of the courtyard and plenty of space for DJs and live entertainment. A top of the range system pumps out great tunes to add to the atmosphere and the all important tv screens follow whatever sorts are current.

I decided to have a look round to see who was there and first caught up with Paula Clarke from Drumconrath, Jay Boyle from Laytown, Dave Andrews from Haggardstown and Rob Donnelly from Wexford who told me they really like the layout of the place, the ease of getting served and how friendly, and lovely the staff are!

I then headed for a table where I got talking to Stephen Ryan from Legion Avenue and Conor McGeough from Willow Grove who told me they thought the place very different from before and were hugely impressed with the transformation.

Not too long later I got a word with Ronan and Catherine Kerr from Dunmor who said the place was fabulous, has a lovely atmosphere and is big and spacious and will sure to be a huge hit.

After this I got talking to Tommy Brennan and Sandra Marmion from Muirhevnamor who though the place is fantastic and with so many great changes, one being no stairs to get into the place.

After this I caught up with a group who included Raquel Reyes from Barcelona, Pablo Diaz from Madrid, Cecilia and Christine Garcia from Espania who were very impressed with the place, very open, spacious and giving a good selection of choices to everyone there.

Next I caught up with Niamh and Orla Dunne from Knockbridge, Thomas Cunningham from Clontarf, Brendan Traynor from Point Road, Conor Finnegan from Manydown Close and Aoife Connolly from Silverbridge who told me that anywhere that serves food till 10pm gets their vote and the cocktail menu wasn’t that bad either!

Seated out in the Courtyard

Bar I then got talking to James Browne from Fr. Murray Park, Adam Murphy from Rockmarshall and Andrew Kane from Knockbridge who were enjoying the ambience and said they thought the place was ‘deadly’ and I had to agree with them!

Heading into Henrys Bar where I caught up with the Wicklow Possee who were up for the weekend and decided to check pout Dundalk’s latest experience and they included Jim Murphy, Owen and Jennifer Hamilton, Patrick Ging, Pat

Maguire, Tonie Flanagan, Dave and Pamela Reid who said they thought the place looked great and was sure to be a huge success, now I hope they weren’t waiting too long on their first thirst quencher!

After this I met up with Kevin and Aoife Adams from Goslings Terrace and Padraig Moran from Glenwood who love place, the way it’s set up and the space and wanted to wish them all the best for the future.

Not too far away I got talking to Ciara and Ken Mullen from

Kingswood who told me the place looks really fancy and is completely unrecognisable.

I then met up with Marian Dadiani and Glen Trainor both from Dromiskin who said they’ve company transformed the place and it would easily fit in, anywhere in Dublin!

Seated close by were Fergal Hughes from Ladywell Terrace who was with Amy Flynn and Sean McArdle who were amazed by the place saying it is a mix of the Rum House and the Market Bar, only more contemporary.

I then got talking to Eithna Sheil from Hillview and Geraldine Greene from Cooley Park who were hugely impressed with the new venue. The ladies were on a night out but Geraldine’s thoughts were more on Munich where son Ciaran was graduating this week and she was so looking forward to going over to it and so proud of him in equal measures!

After this I got talking to Irene Williams from Point Road who was out for a mad one with Gerry Leonard from Lis

Na Dara who thought the place was amazing and really liked the American touches spread round the place.

Next I met up with Geraldine and Michael Tuite from Clontigora Court who told me they thought the place was absolute fabulous and had all the looks of a top Dublin watering hole.

Many thanks to Bronagh Matthews from Stapleton Place who took time out of her busy schedule to show me around and give me a look at the various aspects of the premises, this place is going to be huge!
