Ardee man Mark Smyth, who has been missing since May 2018, is one of four missing people whose images are featured on the bags of 100 Deliveroo riders in Dublin and Cork during December.

The Bring Them Home Campaign, which was launched last week on National Missing Persons Day, sees the food delivery company partnering with the National Missing Persons Helpline to highlight the cases of four missing men .

Mark Smyth, was 33 when he was reported missing to Gardaí this summer on Wednesday, July 24 and was last seen in Ardee in May 2018.

He is described as being 6ft tall and of slim build. He has green eyes, brown shaved hair and black stubble.

The other missing people who are being highlighted by the campaign are Trevor Deely, Gerard Taylor, Barry Coughlan.

According to the National Missing Persons Helpline, the average number of missing persons reports received each year is 8,700, with over 90 people untraced at the end of each year. The recent meeting of the Dundalk Joint Policing Committee heard that 121 people had been reported missing up until the end of October, of which 91 were considered ‘ high risk’.

Deliveroo is donating €10,000 to the helpline which provides free and confidential support to those affected by a disappearance and is also giving customers an opportunity to make a donation through their App.

The contribution will be used to extend the helpline’s family support service to locations outside of Dublin.

Deliveroo Country Manager, Michael Healy, said: ‘ The brilliant work of the National Missing Persons Helpline is life-changing for families. We knew we wanted to help them with their important work.’ The company has previously launched a similar campaign in the UK.
