December 2004

-

A building plan to carry out improvements to the clubhouse and other aspects of the golf club is presented to members of Greenore at the annual general meeting.

Altogether, the cost of the work is estimated at €500,000, with another €200,000 to €300,000 required to install a new water sprinkler system for the course.

Members opt for a phased approach and give the green light for a refurbishment of the clubhouse and extension of the greenkeeper’s shed to incorporate necessary facilities under health and safety regulations.

A five-year time span is envisaged to carry out the rest of the proposed elements of the plan which include extending the locker room and constructing a separate professional shop.
