Christmas at Ghan House

It’s hard to imagine a better place to get in the mood for Christmas than at Ghan House in Carlingfor­d.

The award-winning hotel and restaurant is hosting its 9th annual celebratio­n of everything that the local area has to offer at Christmast­ime on Sunday December 15 from 12 noon to 5pm.

This free event will feature artisan food, beautiful festive music from Cor Charlinne and a selection of crafts and gifts.

Among the exhibitors are Great Northern Larder, Heavenly Cakes. Clayotic, Tracy Fry,

Sheel’s Driftwood, Ben & Lily’s Coffee Company, Pearly Beauty, NearyNogs Chocolate Makers, Dezignworx, The Pretty Plaque Shop, Ogam Oils, The Handmade Soap Company, artists Olive McGuinness, Patricia McAteer and Maura Muckian, Marie O’Connor’s Aloe Vera, Seodra Seaglass Design and Wreaths by Aine There will be a wine-tasting with Owen from Wines Direct in the bar area, along with Listoke Gin, Adriatico wines and Dan Kelly’s Cider in house on the day with festive samples.

This year, visitors can meet the Ghan House’s two AA Rosette chefs who will be in the lounge, giving advice and tips for Christmas cooking, as well as tastings and food to take home. Ghan House is also offering homemade treats and gift vouchers.

The children’s Christmas cupcake and craft session with Santa is always very popular, and while there is no Santa’s grotto this year, Santa will visit all of the classes and give the children a small gift to take home.

The choir for Dundalk Men’s Shed bring some festive spirit to the Long Walk Shopping Centre tomorrow (Wednesday) as they sing from 11am to 1pm.
