FR. GENE KIRK

Kilkerley native Fr. Gene Kirk from Derryfalon­e has been a missionary priest in Peru for the past 57 years. Now 85 years of age he is hoping to fulfil one last project for the people he serves in Villa El Salvador, Lima. This project will advance education for the most deprived

children in the area. The educationa­l cost per child per year is approx. €520. So far through

the help of people in Ireland, Fr. Gene and his team have establishe­d a church, health centres,

LOURDES COMMITTEE

The Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from May 7 to May 12, 2020. We are now taking bookings for Assisted Pilgrims, Pilgrims and Youth Workers. The following dates are very important for those intending to travel on the pilgrimage. Deposits have to be in by February 20, and final payments have to be in by March 26. We have no control over those dates as they are set out by Armagh and unfortunat­ely we must strictly adhere to them. 5 K RUN

The Annual Killanny CPR fundraiser Run/Walk takes place on New Year’s Day at 11.00am. Registrati­on from 9:30am in Killanny Hall. €10 entry for adults with U 16’s free.

BOWLS

Bowls will resume in the Community Centre from 7.45pm on Wednesday night January 2020. Best of xmas wishes to all members.
