FR. GENE KIRK

Kilkerley native Fr. Gene Kirk from Derryfalon­e has been a missionary priest in Peru for the past 57 years. Now 85 years of age he is hoping to fulfil one last project for the people he serves in Villa El Salvador, Lima. This project will advance education for the most deprived

children in the area. The educationa­l cost per child per year is approx. €520. So far through

the help of people in Ireland, Fr. Gene and his team have establishe­d a church, health centres,

KILKERLEY LOURDES TRIP

Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from 7th to the 12th May. The cost of the pilgrimage this year is €760. This figure includes travel to and from the Airport, accommodat­ion, food, coach transfer from Airport to the Hotel and insurance. A non-refundable deposit of €200 is payable by 20th February with final balance due on the 26th March. Anyone who is interested in travelling please contact Kathleen McCreesh on 0879117732. There is a Youth Worker section on the pilgrimage and the cost is €600. If there are any young people interested in travelling please also get in touch.
