D-Strings named Leinster’s best wedding group

-

Local group D-Strings have been named as the Leinster Wedding Entertainment of the Year at the recent Irish Wedding Awards. The group, known for their string trio and quartet performances at weddings and events across the country, fought off stiff competition from many other wedding entertainers such as singers, bands and novelty acts to win the award.

‘ We were delighted to win this award,’ founder and violinist Deirdre O’ Hare said. ‘ There are so many wedding awards out there, many organised by magazines selling advertising etc. It’s great to win an award by an independent award company and get recognition for our hard work over the years.’

D-Strings performed recently at a number of local events including the charity concert ‘Fairytale of Dundalk’ , in which they performed alongside Jim Corr and Philip Kirk in aid of the North Louth Hospice. They also performed at the official opening of Killeavy Castle last year near Slieve Gullion.

D-Strings have built up quite a reputation both locally and nationwide through their performances at weddings and corporate events. With over 15 years experience they are regarded as one of the countries top string ensembles.

For those looking for a more contemporary sound, the group have a electric string packages, which they launched last year at Druids Glen. These are proving very popular for corporate, wedding and private events.

In recent years their members have been called upon to play on many high profile tours, events and luxury weddings across Europe. Locally they are known for weddings, private events, funerals and corporate functions. For more information on the group take a look at their website www.d-strings.com or facebook/ instagram pages.
