Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30am mass. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church followed by Benedictio­n at 10.00p.m. Confession­s are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request. The Combined Parish Visitation Team meet in Knockbridg­e Parochial House this evening Tuesday, March 10, at 7.30pm, and the Combined Parish Pastoral Council meet this Wednesday, March 11, at 8.00pm in the Parochial House. Do this in Memory Mass for children preparing for first communion takes place this Saturday, March 14, at 7.30pm.

PARISH CENTRE

Those wishing to book the Parish Centre for Funerals and other occasions, must contact Jean Myers directly at 042 9338670. Fr Gerry has asked a Sub Group and a few others to explore the upgrading of the Centre.

Hospice. This is the run that the club had to postpone because of the inclement weather. The run proved a complete success and the club have to be congratula­ted on the work they do for charity. The club would like to thank all who entered or helped in any way to make the day the success it was.

The club are busily preparing for the annual St Patrick’s day parade in the village. This parade is certainly looked forward to by everyone and is always well attended. Indeed in recent years it has proved to be one of the most successful and well attended parades in the region and we are confidant that this years will be no different.

The day commences with the usual breakfast served in the community centre. The wholesome breakfast cost €10 with reductions for families. The club are inviting everyone especially local clubs and organisati­ons to enter with floats also vintage cars tractors ,bicycles or whatever all is very welcome.

There will be the normal viewing stand with prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd and this years celebrity guest will be country singing star Declan Nerney. Declan will launch the draw the club will be running between now and the June Bank holiday when they are running their week end carnival. He will also sing a couple of songs. We hope everyone comes out and enjoys themselves and please obey all the marshals instructio­ns. We wish them all the best of luck on the day.

FIRST HOME GAME

St Mochtas played their first competitiv­e match of the season in Pairc Mochta when the second team had a hard fought win over Mattock Rangers on a score line of 3- 8 to 1-13. This was a very entertaini­ng game played in a good spirit.

Club membership is now due and costs €30 for adult and €25 for juvenile. Family membership for 2adults and 2 children costs 80 euro. Dont forget the club run a weekly fundraiser where there has to be a winner each week. Last weeks winner was Theresa Mc. Coy.

Membership can be paid to any committee member.
