-

A local school was featured on RTE’s Dancing with the Stars last week.

Scoil Phádraig Naofa, Kilcurry had the pleasure of welcoming dancing celebrity Gráinne Gallanagh and her pro dance partner Kai Widdrington to their school last week.

Gráinne who was Miss universe Ireland 2018 visited the school where her sister Caitríona Gallanagh is a teacher and her nephew Diarmuid is in third class there.

There was a lot of excitement meeting the stars and having the TV cameras at the school. Gráinne and Kai danced for the children and parents in the Resource Centre in Kilcurry, answered questions and some top class Irish dancers danced for them.

Gráinne and Kai also visited St. Louis secondary school where they were impressed with beautiful singing from the transition years preparing for ‘ This is the Greatest Show’ which was set to take place.

The pair danced for the 5th years and were treated to some fantastic dancing.

Scoil Bhríde, Shelagh and Rachael’s Room in Shelagh where Gráinne’s nephews Conall and Fionn attend also got a brilliant surprise when

Gráinne and Kai paid them a visit.

The children were wonderful and three posed as judges to give the dancing stars some great comments and top scores.

Grainne’s sister, Caitríona said they were ‘absolutely delighted and overwhelmed by the support in Dundalk.’;

The dancing duo put in an excellent performance in the finale of the hugely popular show on Sunday night.

However, they lost out to RTE DJ Lottie Ryan and her partner who were crowned winners.
