Nicola enjoys fantastic 50th party
ON Saturday night I headed for Byrne’s Bar where a special 50th birthday party was being held for Nicola Maughan from Faughart and there to make sure she had a fantastic night was husband Martin, kids Haleigh, Rhys and Leah, mum Peggy, brothers Niall, and Cormac, and sisters Andrea and Aoife and big collection of family and friends.
I was only in the door when I met up with the birthday girl who was delighted to introduce me to her daughter Haleigh who had surprised her mum by coming home from Toronto Canada specially to be there on the night.
They were enjoying the company of Debbie White from Cooley who was with her daughter Georgia and they wanted a big shout out for their son Aaron White who lives over in Canada with Haleigh and hadn’t come home but they were all thinking about him too.
Heading for an adjacent table I then got talking to Lyndon, Linda and Tony Murch who had travelled down from Artane specially to be there with their friends and wanted to wish Nicola a very happy birthday.
After this I caught up with the mad Chelsea fans Frank Birmingham and Billy Bright who were disappointed the premiership has been put on hold, but admitted it is the only way.
Not too far away, I caught up with Nicola’s mum Peggy Myers from Farndreg who was sitting having a laugh with family friend Jane Carroll from Cluan Enda who was with her husband Tom and son Wayne and the girls assured me that when they all get together, it turns out to be a helluva night.
Making my way through the crowds I then got talking to Katie McEneaney from Ashbrook who was with Wayne Carroll from Cluan Enda along with Nicola’s kids Leah and Rhys Maughan who assured me no matter what, it was going to be an epic night for sure.
Next I caught up with Eabha Myers from Pearse Park who wanted to wish her aunty Nicola a very happy 50th and she said she was with her mum Andrea who was just about to arrive at the party.
Just arrived in for the party was uncle Paddy Myers and Delores Doherty who were looking forward to a major night of fun with everyone there.
Meanwhile up near the bar I got a swift word with Declan, Delores and Niall Delaney from Faughart who wanted to wish their neighbour all the best and assured me it was going to be an insane celebration.
Finally, before I departed I managed a quick word with Nicola’s brothers Niall and Cormac and sisters Andrea and Aoife who had all arrived in at the same time and wanted to wish their big sister a very happy birthday and were looking forward to a night of celebrations with her and her family.
