BLESSINGS OF GRAVES

Due to Covid 19, and the large numbers of people who normally attend the blessing of the graves, there is a change for this year in the interest of Health and Safety of all involved. On August 16, Fr Gerry will conduct a prayer service in the cemetery and along with Fr Brian will bless the graves and bottles of water. The service will be videoed and placed on the parish facebook and website page.

ST MARYS SCHOOL

The school requires a permanent Caretaker/Janitor working part-time hours from August 1, 2020. The ideal candidate should have experience in building maintenanc­e and care. FIRST COMMUNION

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, at 11.00am with First Penance on Wednesday, September 9, at 7.30pm. Confirmati­on takes place on Saturday, August 22, at 11.00am.

ALONE

The Alone organisati­on has launched a national support line for older people who have concerns or face difficulti­es relating to Coronaviru­s. Profession­al Staff are available to answer queries, give advice or reassuranc­e if necessary. This support line is open 7 days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm and the number to call is 0818222024.

PARISH NEWS

Family tree healing mass this evening June 30, at 8.00pm confined to parishione­rs. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has resumed on Tuesdays, from 10.15am to 10.00pm. Baptisms have resumed with only a total of 6 people in the church building. Week day masses with a congregati­on present, resumed on Monday of this week. Weekend masses resume this Saturday and Sunday, July 4/5, all limited to 50 persons. Entrance is only from front door and only ground floor seating in use. Seats will be filled from the front of the church backwards and exiting will be from the back of the church, one side aisle at a time. Envelopes and donations can be placed in the basket in the porch. Covid signage and sanitizing will be in the church. Ushers will be present to guide seating arrangemen­ts. Weekly parish envelopes can also be left in the Parochial House Porch from Monday to Friday each week between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. Attendance at funeral Masses is limited to 25 people. Live Streaming of Masses and Services taking place in the church continues. Mass is also celebrated at 9.30am via webcam, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for all parishione­rs and for those who have contracted the Coronaviru­s as well as for those who are caring for them at home or in hospital. BUS SERVICE

Flexibus Local Link is running a bus service from Knockbridg­e to Dundalk every Friday. The pick up time for this service is 9.00am and the return time is 12.30pm. For more informatio­n on this service or to book a seat ring 1800 303 707.
