DUNDALKGAELS

WE’RE beginning to get back into the swings after a long difficult period. Training for ladies, juveniles and adults is set to resume, and we’ve had our first committee meeting – held outdoors – since March 10th.

However, there are still several restrictions in place and members, and those using the astro pitch, are asked to observe them. Notices and sanitisers have been placed inside the clubrooms and at the entrance to our grounds.

Bookings for the astro pitch can be made by contacting Dave at 0851987362. The club lotto is due to recommence, and we look forward to the continued support of those who have helped build the jackpot to €6,600.

A vote of sympathy has been passed with our registrar Fr Padraig Keenan, on the recent death of his father, Peadar.

Congratulations to Seanie Coleman on the recent celebration of his 90th birthday. Seanie was a member of our 1952 senior championship-winning team, playing on the right side of the forward-line along with his long-time pal, Bertie Dullaghan.

DOWDALLSHILL

THE club can confirm that the weekly lotto will resume on Tuesday night July 7th.

Because of current guidelines, there are some changes to the way we will be collecting our weekly tickets. We would ask our patrons to drop their tickets off in two of our local shops - Conyards and Arthurs. Furthermore, tickets can be dropped off at St Brigids Park on Tuesday nights between 7.30 and 10pm.

Tickets are available for purchase at both local shops. The jackpot stands at €3,300.

For the moment, there will be no calling to houses.

In the very near future, we also intend launching a way you can play our lotto online. This will allow Dowdallers from all around the globe, contribute to their local club!

On the field, our first team returned to training last week, and will be resuming contact training shortly, ahead of the return of matches from mid-July.

HUNTERSTOWN

OUR monthly 50/50 draw takes place today (Tuesday) and it only costs €10 to enter, to be in with a chance to win a big cash prize.

We will be hosting a Drivein Bingo event in our club grounds on July 26th and all are welcome to attend.

More details will follow in the coming days.

We would remind all our club players and committee members to be registered club members before the season resumes. Contact our club registration officer David Fedigan on 0877504785.

We would ask all our club members to take the Covid-19 education e-learning module course for Gaelic games. The course can be done on the official GAA website.

We would like to wish all clubs the very best of luck for the resumption of the season and would ask everyone who attends our grounds to please follow all safety guidelines during the Covid-19 crisis.
