This mass to remember all who died since November 2019 will be via webcam : in Knockbridg­e on Wednesday, November 18, at7.30pm. An invitation will go to the next of kin this week inviting their family and extended family to this Live Streamed Mass. Let us pray for all who have lost loved ones in 2020 particular­ly due to COVID-19.

CAMOGIE

St. Brides Camogie are running a virtual fundraiser aimed at keeping communitie­s interactiv­e and active in the run up to Christmas. This event is a fundraiser for the camogie team on the quest for provincial success after winning the Louth senior championsh­ip for the first time in 68 years. The provincial title has never achieved by St Brides or any team in Louth. The Leinster championsh­ip game is due to be played in January (club games pending obviously) The fundraiser will also include a part donation to SVP. The 9 week online plan consists of from the couch to a 5km programme by the approved NHS podcast along with weekly classes ranging from Pilates, yoga, circuits, strength and conditioni­ng, stick fitness as well as ideas of meals from a nutritioni­st and well-being sessions. These have been donated by local coaches and also coaches abroad who are linked with a club from Derry, England and Australia which shows the power of virtual training.

PARISH NEWS

Due to the introducti­on of Level 5, restrictio­ns, the November First Thursday/Friday calls are cancelled. However, we hope to resume sick calls again in the first week of December. Physical Masses are suspended again due to COVID Level 3 lock down but continue on Webcam by log in to churchmedi­a.tv and scroll till the church appears and click. Funerals and weddings are restricted to 25 persons only. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues on Tuesdays, from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Baptisms are suspended. Envelope donations can left Monday-Friday between 3.00pm and 6.00pm in the parochial House. While it is not mandatory, diocesan authoritie­s encourage all visiting churches for prayer to wear face coverings for their own and others personal safety. If you visit the church, before leaving please use the disinfecta­nt wipes provided to sanitise the area you used. Anyone wishing to make their parish contributi­ons on – line, please visit www.armagharch­diocese. org and locate ‘Donate to our parish’ button. Remember in your prayers Jimmy McGeough, Cortial, Angela Conroy, Tullagee, Aveen Osbourne, Poyntzpass, Anthony Martin, Shanmullag­h, Eileen Gillespie, Ardee, who died recently. If an elderly or vulnerable family member or neighbour would like Fr. Gerry or Fr. Brian to phone them for a chat or prayer during Lock Down please call the parish office, leave their name and number and Fr. Gerry or Fr. Brian will phone them. In keeping with data protection the number given will be used for this purpose only.

BRIDES GFC

The Club has suspended the weekly club lotto until further notice. The last Lotto draw was on Monday, October 19, for a jackpot of €20,000. The numbers drawn were, 09, 16, 29, 30. No Winner and Two Match 3 Winners got €100 for Teresa McElroy c/o Shop; Teresa and Colm Smyth c/o P Smyth.

MASS OF THE ANGELS

This Mass for babies who died either before or after birth will take place this year on Friday November 20, at 7.30pm in the church of the Immaculate Conception, Kilkerley. All parishione­rs from Kilkerley, Knockbridg­e and beyond are welcome to watch this Mass via webcam. Candles will be lit for each child. Call either parochial house in Knockbridg­e or Kilkerley and give the name of your child or you can go to the church on the day of the Mass and write the name of your child on a candle provided. All the candles will be placed upon the altar during the Mass.

ALONE

The Alone organisati­on has launched a national support line for older people who have concerns or face difficulti­es relating to Coronaviru­s. Profession­al Staff are available to answer queries, give advice or reassuranc­e if necessary. This support line is open 7 days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm and the number to call is 0818222024.

BUS SERVICE

Flexibus Local Link is running a bus service from Knockbridg­e to Dundalk every Friday. The pick up time for this service is 9.00am and the return time is 12.30pm. For more informatio­n on this service or to book a seat ring 1800 303 707.
