Rosaryrelay atGrange
The Rosary Relay, organised by the Pastoral Council of Cooley Parish started as planned on Friday evening last at 6pm and continued throughout the night until 6pm on Saturday evening.
The event took place in the Church of St. James, Grange, and representatives from each townland of the Parish recited the Rosary in their half hour slot praying through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother for God’s protection against the coronavirus.The event was live streamed from the church and the six o’clock slot was filled by Fr. Tommy McNulty who relayed the first Rosary and this paved the way for a total of forty eight Rosaries throughout the twenty four hour period.
The area was thoroughly sanitised between each Rosary as parishioners entered and left the Church. The final Saturday evening Rosary was recited by Cooley Parish Priest, Fr. Malachy Conlon.
The Rosary Relay took some organising culminating in an unique launch on Friday afternoon at Monksland. The well kept green hill area in front of Kindlon’s house was used to display an emblem of a beautiful handmade Rosary which covered a wide area of the grass. Children from the Parish each held a letter displaying the petition ‘Pray for us O Holy Mother of God’.
