Saulius Janavicius, Thomastown Cross, Donaghmore, Dundalk, and late of Lithuania, whose death occurred on 14 December, 2020, peacefully, surrounded by his family, in the kind and gentle care of the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Saulius will be sadly, missed and remembered with love by his sons Benas, Justinas and Airidas extended family, neighbours, friends, and by all who knew and loved him in Lithuania and Dundalk. Saulius’ Funeral will be celebrated with family and friends in private on Wednesday in Dardistown Crematoriu­m.

Brendan Bellew, Cherryvale, Bay Estate, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 9 December, 2020, peacefully, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Brendan beloved husband of Mary (née Thoronton) dear father of John, Bridget, Rose, Eamonn, Brendan (Junior), David and the late Maureen and loving granddad of, Alexander, Mia and Hayley. Brendan will be sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchild­ren, son-in-law David, daughters-in-law Jenny, Magda and Katrina, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peadar McBride, Lurgankeel, Kilcurry, Dundalk, and Armagh, whose death occurred on 8 December, 2020, peacefully, in the kind and gentle loving care of the staff at St. Peter’s Nursing Home. Predecease­d by his beloved wife Bríd, son Cormac, brothers Vincent and Dermot, adoring father of Ruaidhrí and Brianán. Peadar will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his children, daughter-in-law Liza, son-in-law Sean (Callan), grandchild­ren Ciara and Aran, sisters-in-law (Coventry), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Kathleen Mullen (née Blackburn), The Laurels, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 9 December, 2020, peacefully, in the love and tender care of the nursing and care staff in St. Peters Nursing Home, Castlebell­ingham. Predecease­d by her husband Jim. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her loving son Derek, daughter-in-law Dyan, grandson Andrew, Sisters Vera Boston USA, Charlotte Lincoln UK, Olive London UK, brother-in-law Hugh Mullen and Gerry and Joan Daly, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends. Mickey McGahon, St. Gerard`s Square, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 8 December, 2020, peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Predecease­d by parents Michael and Bridget, brothers Eddie, Paddy and Andrew, sisters Mary-Josephine, Rosaleen and Kitty. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, sister in-law Sheila, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and nieces, his great friend Paddy Ward, neighbours and many friends. Private funeral.

Brendan Markey, Darlington, England and formerly of Stonetown, Louth, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 8 December, 2020, peacefully, at his home, in the tender care of his family. Brendan, son of the late Tom and Maryann Markey, loving husband of Anne, dear father of Deana and Brendan, loving granddad of Ben, Paul and Jack, great granddad of Lee, father-in-law of John, and brother of Ann, Tom, Seamus, Rosie, Marion, Kathleen, Berty and Eileen. Gerry Lee, Carnbeg, Doylesfort Road, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 9 December, 2020, peacefully, at home, in the care of his family. Beloved husband of the late Rose, son of the late Tommy and Annie, adored dad of Aidan, Rosaline, Olivia, Gerard and the late Ronald and brother of the late Tommy (England), Anthony, Patsy and Noel. Doreen McCaran (née Heenan), Blackrock, Co. Louth and formerly of Castlewell­an, Co Down, whose death occurred on 9 December, 2020, peacefully, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Doreen wife of the late Pat, dearly loved mother of Fionnuala (Fingleton), Aidan, Conor, Neil and Moya (Moran) and loving grandmothe­r of Séan, Katy, Eilíse, Shane, Anna, Kevin, Maeve, and Joe. Frances Mulligan (née Todd), Marian Park, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 9 December, 2020, peacefully, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Predecease­d by her husband Tommy, parents Mary and Thomas (Oliver Plunkett Park), brothers Tommy, Anthony and Harry. Patrick (Pat) Murphy, Leamington Spa, UK and formerly of Culhane Street, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 29 November, 2020, peacefully, at his home in Leamington Spa. Predecease­d by his parents Patrick and Nancy (née Matthews), brother Gerard (died 2018). He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Leanne, grandchild­ren Keir and Mia, brother Jim extended family and many friends both in the UK and his home town of Dundalk. Pat had worked at Hallidays, played with Border Legion and sang with Saint Nicholas’ and Saint Patrick’s choirs. Aidan Quigley, Banagher Street, Cloghan, Co. Offaly, and late of Kilkerley, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 8 December, 2020, peacefully, with his family. Predecease­d by his beloved wife Kathleen, infant son Raymond, daughter Bernie Troy and sisters Bridie and Annie. Dawn Shortall (née Ryan), Mill Road, Durrow, Co. Laois, and Dundalk, whose death occurred on 8 December, 2020, peacefully, in the care of the nurses and staff of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin. Loving wife of Kieran and mother to Hazel, Ciarán and Grace. Predecease­d by her father Tommy. Kathleen Wallace (née Gorman), Darver, Readypenny, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 6 December, 2020, suddenly, at her home. Kathleen was predecease­d by her husband Seamus and will be sadly missed by her brothers Kevin and Frank, nephew Michael, sister-in-law, relatives, friends and good neighbours.

We pray for the happy repose of Saji Sebastian and Peadar Mc Bride who died during the week. May they rest in peace.

The Rememberan­ce Christmas tree is up in St. Brigid’s church. Please take a candle from the box and place it in basket provided. The candles will be placed on the tree for you and lit on Christmas Eve and Christmas day masses in remembranc­e of our loved ones. A small donation can be placed in the candelabra
