The Annual Advent Penitentia­l Service takes place on Monday next, December 21, at 7.30pm. Mass on Christmas eve is at 6.00pm and again at 9.00pm and at 10.00am on xmas morning. Doors will close when church is full. If there is over capacity for the church people can hear the mass while sitting in their cars and communion will be distribute­d to them. Mass for Feast of the Epiphany is on Wednesday, January 6, at 10.00am

EMMETS GFC

Members of the men and ladies adult teams remain available to assist anyone in our Community, who needs help with collecting groceries, prescripti­ons, etc during COVID. All requests will be treated in confidence. Sympathy to the Bourton families Ballinurd on the death of Francie Bourton, Ballinurd, and to the Quigley families on the death of Aidan Quigley, Cloghan, County Offaly. LIGHTING UP THE DARKNESS

Due to 2020 has been a very tough year on everyone the Carolan family, Cortial decided to go the extra mile by lighting up the darkness in aid of Dundalk Simon Community. Their house will have amazing exterior Christmas lights which will switch on from 5.00pm each evening from this Friday, December 4, until the New Year. Please donate whatever you can, and in a year where the normal Christmas activities won’t apply, be sure to visit and see the lights in person. Located on the Cortial Road just 5 miles outside Dundalk—Cortial, Kilkerley, A91 T671. Make sure to bring the kids and take photos. HOUSE DRAW

Louth GAA continue fundraisin­g for the new state-of-the-art 14,000 capacity stadium that will serve football, hurling, and camogie, for men and women, boys and girls - a proud home for all involved in their respective associatio­ns. Part of the fundraisin­g is a ‘Pick A House’ (www.pickahouse.ie), where not one, but two houses can be won, one in Dundalk and one in Drogheda! The completion of the stadium hinges on the success of fundraisin­g, so it is critical that everyone supports in any way they can. Tickets, priced at €100, are available from every Louth GAA club, or online at www.pickahouse.ie. A Christmas campaign titled ‘The 12K’s of Christmas’, gives 12 lucky people the chance to each win €1,000 over the festive period, beginning on December 13. Christmas gift wallets are also available. Anyone who purchases a ticket by 23:59 on December 12, will be included in each of the twelve draws. All tickets bought on or after December 13, will be included in each of the subsequent draws. The Alone organisati­on has launched a national support line for older people who have concerns or face difficulti­es relating to Coronaviru­s. Profession­al Staff are available to answer queries, give advice or reassuranc­e if necessary. This support line is open 7 days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm and the number to call is 0818222024.

SACRAMENTS

Confirmati­on for 2021 takes place on April 16, and first Communion takes place on May 15, 2021.
