Christmas Trees shredded

-

All being right and no regulations are at risk of being contravened the local Tidy Towns Committee plan to once again offer a post festive season shredding service for householders to dispose of natural Christmas trees.

The recycling service is provided free in conjunction with Pelican Promotions and has proved of much benefit over the years to the environment as well as assisting householders with a chore in getting rid of their tree. The mulch has been utilised in local Park and the stables at Louth County Council animal pound

This is the fourth year that the service will be available at the Community Centre on Saturday January 9 on Sandy Lane between 11.00am and 3.00. The first year over 200 trees were recycled and the uptake has been consistently high each year.

Blackrock Tidy Towns invites people to avail of the service. The event is organised to promote waste minimisation in the community. There is no charge for the service, but donations will be gratefully accepted.

Trees will be shredded and used as mulch in the adjoining park. Pelican Promotions will facilitate the collection of trees. To register and avail of the collection service, email pelicanfreecollection@gmail. com as soon as you can, with your name, address and Eircode.

Strict implementation of Covid regulations will be observed. As it is an outdoor event residents will be able to drop off trees while keeping socially distant.
