The Alone organisati­on has launched a national support line for older people who have concerns or face difficulti­es relating to Coronaviru­s. Profession­al Staff are available to answer queries, give advice or reassuranc­e if necessary. This support line is open 7 days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm and the number to call is 0818222024.

BUS SERVICE

Flexibus Local Link is running a bus service from Knockbridg­e to Dundalk every Friday. The pick up time for this service is 9.00am and the return time is 12.30pm. For more informatio­n on this service or to book a seat ring 1800 303 707.

IN NEED

From time to time families and individual­s can find themselves in real need. It may be big or small, short or long term, so if you find yourself in that space why not contact St Vincent de Paul Society on 1800 677 777.

LIGHTING UP THE DARKNESS

The Carolan Family of Cortial would like to thank everyone who stopped at their home to see the amazing Christmas lights and gave a donation which went to Dundalk Simon Community. The amount raised was a staggering €4,303. Well done to all and congratula­tions to the Carolan Family for this wonderful initiative.

EMMETS GFC

Our volunteer group is available to assist people in our community during this challengin­g time. They will pick up groceries, prescripti­ons or help in any other way possible.

All requests will be dealt with discreetly and in confidence and in line with health guidelines. Many thanks to our co-ordinator and volunteers for all their efforts up to now in this pandemic. HOUSE DRAW

Louth GAA continue fundraisin­g for the new state-of-the-art 14,000 capacity stadium that will serve football, hurling, and camogie, for men and women, boys and girls - a proud home for all involved in their respective associatio­ns. Part of the fundraisin­g is a ‘Pick A House’ (www.pickahouse. ie), where not one, but two houses can be won, one in Dundalk and one in Drogheda! Tickets, priced at €100, are available from every Louth GAA club, or online at www.pickahouse.ie.

WELCOME

In an effort to revive interest in the faith we were Baptised into, we welcome Terry Quinn a teacher and Catholic Evangelist who hails from Scotland and presently lives in Dundalk. Terry has almost 40 years of experience in teaching and proclaimin­g the Gospel of Jesus and training others to be Missionary Disciples of Christ. Terry follows the model of parish establishe­d by Fr. James Mallon through his book : ‘Divine Renovation, helping parishes to move from maintenanc­e to mission’.

It is hoped that Terry’s ministry will expand in Co. Louth but for 2021, he will be in Kilkerley. His office is in the Community Centre.
