The El Paso Comedy Club opens in Toales

Dundalk’s newest monthly comedy club, the El Paso Comedy Club, has its premier show in Toales Thursday April 11, with Texas/Dundalk host Elizabeth Redmond compering the evening. Headlining the night is Tallaght native and award-winning comedian Joe Dowlin, one of the most in-demand comedians in Ireland at the moment. For the last eight years, he has been headlining at every festival and top comedy club in the country, with upcoming shows in Vicar Street and Electric Picnic. Joining him on the bill is Dan Stephens, billed as one of Ireland’s biggest comedians.... physically! He won The Ha’penny Comedy Club’s Ireland’s Next Top Comic competitio­n 2024 and was a finalist in the Best New Act 2024 competitio­n in Bray. Shinanne Hggins is a local comedian who runs Louth Laughs. She has been smashing gigs all around Ireland this year and was recently a finalist in the prestigiou­s Ireland’s Next Top Comic, Ireland’s Best New Act and Ted Fest Toilet Duck competitio­ns. She has performed from Myanmar to Mullingar and this year she will be bringing her first solo show 10 Things They Hate About Me to Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A regular on the Dublin comedy circuit over the last five years, Louise O’Toole was recently crowned Irish Jester 2024. She brought her first solo show for a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023 and was selected to bring it to Leicester comedy festival in February this year. Gary Cahill has only been doing stand up comedy for two years but he has already made it to the semi finals of the Cherry Comedy breakout competitio­n and to the final of Show Me The Funny in Galway.
