-

An Táin Arts Centre are seeking applications from professional visual artists to become members of their artists’ studios, Bó Studios in Dundalk. Applications are open to established artists based in County Louth.

The successful artists will be offered membership of Bó Studios, and the opportunity to join a collective of multi-disciplinary artists making exciting new work and providing the chance to collaborate, support and exchange skills.

Founded in 2020, Bó Studios is an artist studio space in Jocelyn Street, comprising of a 30 square metre open plan studio space, seven separate artist studios and a shed workspace area located close to the town centre, 200 metres from An Táin Arts Centre.

It is a ground level site with 24 hour access, heating, bathroom facilities, kitchenette and a secure yard. Currently Bó Studios houses seven practicing artists in different disciplines and differing stages in their career.

The artists currently working at Bó Studios are David Callan, John Connolly, Olivia Hill, Stephen Hurley, Bláthnaid McClean, Linda McConville, Etaoin O’Reilly and James Mackin.

This phase of expansion will see up to three additional artists join the collective, bringing the total number of artists supported by An Táin Arts Centre to ten in 2024.

“Embarking on this journey with just four artists in 2020, expanding to a group of seven, and now, bolstered by increased funding, we are thrilled to announce our capacity to accommodate a total of ten talented artists,” Paul Hayes Director of An Táin Arts Centre said. “Providing dedicated workspace is paramount for visual artists, enabling them to focus on their craft away from home and fostering their growth and artistic development.”

Visit www.antain.ie for application details. The deadline for applicants is Friday May 17.
