Tipp and Limerick councillor­s’ expenses published

The most recent documentat­ion for payments and expenses claimed by Limerick and Tipperary councillor­s has been published, showing what the councillor­s in each of the respective Municipal Districts of Cappamore- Kilmallock and Tipperary- Cahir-Cashel took home in expenses for the first nine months of 2022.

The details are outlined hereunder, in alphabetic­al order by surname.

LIMERICK

Between January and June of 2022, Cllr PJ Carey claimed €25,086 and Cllr Michael Donegan claimed €29,514, which included an allowance for holding the SPC Chair position for three months, as well as €3,109 for foreign travel in July.

Cllr John Egan claimed €23,989.49 for the first nine months of 2022 which included a district chair allowance for July to September. In the same period, Cllr Gerald Mitchell claimed € 24,428.17, Cllr Martin Ryan claimed €26,266, Cllr Eddie Ryan claimed €28,390.72, and Cllr Brigid Teefy claimed €25,283.56.

The data for meetings attended by the Cappamore-Kilmallock councillor­s for 2022 is not yet available.

TIPPERARY

Cllr Michéal Anglim claimed €25,681 and attended 19 meetings between January and September last year. Cllr Tony Black claimed the lowest amount for the district at €20,474 for the same period, and attended the fewest meetings (12).

Cllr Declan Burgess claimed €23,800 for the first nine months of 2022, and attended 22 meetings in that time. Cllr John Crosse claimed €25,640 for the same period, attending 26 meetings, while Cllr Michael Fitzgerald claimed €26,902 having attended 26 meetings.

Cllr Mary Hanna Hourigan, in the first nine months of 2022 claimed €31,451 and attended 26 meetings. In the same time period, Cllr Roger Kennedy claimed €29,545 and attended 27 meetings. Part of his claims included an allowance of €7,589.34 for his role as Cathaoirle­ach for three months.

Cllr Mairín McGrath attended 21 meetings between January and September last year, claiming €22,184, while Cllr Andy Moloney attended 24 meetings, claiming €23,313.

Cllr Marie Murphy had the highest claims of the 11 councillor­s at €42,115 and attended 31 meetings. Her claim includes a Cathaoirle­ach allowance for six months when she was chair of Tipperary County Council.

Finally, Cllr Anne Marie Ryan (Shiner) claimed €21,463 and attended 23 meetings from January to September 2022.
