U12 CAMOGIE

We had a great turnout last Saturday for the Rena O'Leary Memorial Tournament and thankfully the rain stayed away. It was an honour to have Rena’s husband Dermot and son, daughters and granddaughter in attendance. Our club president Marie Clancy had some lovely words to share about Rena, which was lovely to hear.

Congratulations to Fr O'Neills Camogie Club who took on Cobh in the final and won the cup. Special congratulations to our very young U12 team who narrowly missed out on a place in the cup final but went on to win the plate final v Dungourney. These girls have a great never give up attitude and work so well together. They are a real pleasure to watch. Most of these girls will have another go at it next year.

All teams enjoyed some goody bags at the end of the games and there was sandwiches and cakes galore for everyone in the clubhouse. Thanks to all the parents who so kindly helped out and contributed these.

Thanks to Fr O'Neills, Cobh Camogie and Dungourney Camogie Club for taking part in this special tournament. Thank you also to our two wonderful referees Marie and Katelyn... super job girls!

U14 PREMIER 2

This team of young ladies have topped their group with 3 out of 3 wins against Kilbrittain, St Finbarrs and Ballincollig. They have performed consistently throughout the championship campaign and now look forward to the county semi-final with home advantage against Valley Rovers on Sunday, 24th. Best of luck girls!

U16 PREMIER 2

These girls have also topped their group with 3 out of 3 wins against Cloughduv, Ballinora and Douglas. A great achievement. They now win home advantage in the county semi-final v Sliabh Rua – date and time to be confirmed.

Many congratulations to Laura Hayes who has once again been nominated for a Camogie All-Star Award. It’s great to see this talented lady being recognised for her exceptional contribution to the senior Cork camogie team. Well done, Laura!

Well done to Laura Kenneally who was part of the U15 Cork Development squad this summer. They played their final blitz of the season recently. Hope you enjoyed wearing the red and white colours throughout the summer, we are very proud of your achievement Laura.
